Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I consider therapy?

Therapy isn't just for times of crisis. It can also be a place to better understand yourself, learn healthy coping skills, improve relationships, navigate life transitions, or simply have a space that's entirely focused on you.

Whether you're struggling with anxiety, ADHD, OCD, trauma, college stress, or feeling stuck, therapy can help you build insight, confidence, and practical tools to navigate life's challenges. You don't have to wait until things feel "bad enough" to reach out.

How long will I be in therapy?

There isn't a set timeline. Some clients come to therapy for a specific challenge and meet for a few months, while others choose longer-term therapy for ongoing support and personal growth.

We'll regularly check in about your goals and make sure therapy continues to meet your needs.

How often will we meet?

Most clients begin with weekly sessions, which helps build momentum and establish a strong therapeutic relationship.

As you begin reaching your goals, we may transition to sessions every other week or monthly. The frequency of sessions is always based on your individual needs, goals, and preferences.

How long is each session?

Individual therapy sessions are 60 minutes and are conducted through a secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform.

Do you accept insurance?

I am currently a private-pay practice while I complete the credentialing and contracting process with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield and HUSKY Health (Connecticut Medicaid).

At this time, I am not yet able to bill Anthem or HUSKY Health. Once credentialing and contracting are complete and my participation is active, this page will be updated with additional insurance information.

Want to use out-of-network benefits?

If you have a commercial insurance plan with out-of-network mental health benefits, you may be eligible for partial reimbursement for therapy services.

Upon request, I can provide a superbill—a detailed receipt that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Payment is due at the time of service, and reimbursement is not guaranteed.

I recommend contacting your insurance company before beginning therapy to ask about your out-of-network behavioral health benefits, deductible, reimbursement rates, and requirements for submitting claims.

How much does therapy cost?

Therapy is an investment in your mental health and overall well-being. My fees are designed to be transparent, with no surprise bills.

Free 15-minute phone consultation

Initial Intake Session (60 min): $200

Individual Therapy Session (60 min): $150

A limited number of sliding-scale appointments are available for clients experiencing financial hardship. If cost is a concern, please feel free to ask about current availability.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Payment is securely processed through the client portal. I accept:

  • All major credit and debit cards

  • HSA and FSA cards

Payment is due at the time of your appointment. In cases where clients are experiencing financial hardship, I am willing to work together to create a payment plan and/ or discuss sliding-scale rates to ensure access to needed mental health services.

Do you offer a free consultation?

Yes! I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to briefly discuss what you're looking for, answer any questions, and see if we're a good fit before scheduling your first session.

What are your office hours?

Sessions are by appointment only. I offer appointments primarily on Monday and Friday afternoons as well as on Saturday mornings. I respond to inquiries within 48 hours.

Where are sessions held?

Currently, all appointments are conducted virtually through a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. As long as you're physically located in Connecticut and have a private space with a reliable internet connection, you can attend therapy from wherever is most comfortable for you.

In-office sessions are available beginning at the end of October in North Franklin, CT. More office information is coming soon.

When will you have in-office sessions?

I am currently scheduling in-office sessions beginning the week of October 26th, 2026.

If you are interested in scheduling an in-person initial intake appointment, feel free to do so now. New clients can also begin therapy virtually and transition to in-office sessions once the office is open. Contact me, and we can find out what works best for you.

What if I've never been to therapy before?

That's completely okay! Many of my clients are trying therapy for the first time.

There's no "right" way to do therapy, and you don't need to know exactly what to say. We'll go at your pace, and together we'll figure out what feels most helpful for you.

What if I don't know what to talk about?

You don't have to come to every session with a plan.

Some days you'll have a lot to process, and other days you might feel unsure where to start. That's completely normal. I'll help guide the conversation, and we'll work together to figure out what's most important in the moment.

Will I get to meet your cats?

Maybe! Since I provide virtual therapy, my cats, Winnie and Milo, occasionally make surprise appearances during sessions. They're my unofficial telehealth assistants and sometimes decide they'd like to join the conversation.

Don't worry—they're usually just passing through. If you are lucky, you may get a close-up of Winnie's blue eyes mid-session! Many clients enjoy the occasional furry guest appearance!

I also enjoy meeting my clients' pets over video as well!
