Meet Abby Miranda

Hi, I'm Abby!

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Connecticut, and I'm passionate about helping young adults feel less overwhelmed and more like themselves.

Starting therapy can be scary, and I know it isn't always easy to ask for help. My goal is to create a space where you can feel comfortable being yourself—no judgment, no pressure, and no need to have everything figured out.

I work with young adults, college students, and adults navigating anxiety, ADHD, autism, OCD, complex trauma, relationship challenges, low self-esteem, and life transitions. Together, we'll find practical tools that fit your life while also exploring the deeper patterns that may be keeping you stuck.

I believe therapy should feel like a conversation, not an interrogation. I love making mental health concepts easy to understand and practical to use in everyday life. I'll meet you where you are, celebrate your wins, support you through the hard moments, and help you build the life you want—one step at a time. My hope is that you'll leave each session feeling heard, understood, and with something you can take into your everyday life.

I earned my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Saint Joseph and have experience in university counseling and private practice. These experiences reinforced my belief that healing happens through genuine connection and feeling truly understood.

When I'm not working, you'll usually find me spending time with family and friends, planning my wedding, crafting, enjoying an iced coffee, or hanging out with my two cats, Winnie and Milo. If we meet virtually, don't be surprised if one of them makes a guest appearance—they love saying hello!

I'm so glad you're here. Whether this is your first time trying therapy or you're returning after some time away, I'd be honored to support you as you take the next step toward the life you want to build.

My Therapy Philosophy

Therapy works best when you feel safe, comfortable, and genuinely understood.

Every person deserves an approach that fits their unique needs, values, and goals.

Everyone has the capacity to grow, heal, and create meaningful change.

Healing isn't about "fixing" yourself—it's about understanding yourself with compassion.

Your feelings are valid.

Self-care is not selfish.

Therapy should fit you—not the other way around.

You already have strengths—we'll discover and build on them together.

It's okay to take up space and have needs.

Being vulnerable is a sign of courage, not weakness.

You deserve healthy relationships, including the one you have with yourself.

You are more than your diagnosis, your past, or your hardest days.

Curiosity is more helpful than self-criticism.

There is hope, even when life feels overwhelming.

What You Can Expect in Sessions

Therapy doesn't have to feel stiff or intimidating.

My sessions are relaxed, conversational, and tailored to you. Some days we'll dive into the big stuff, and other days we'll laugh, celebrate wins, vent about life, or figure out why your brain is doing what it's doing.

There's no "right" way to do therapy. You don't have to have everything figured out before you show up.

We'll work together to help you better understand yourself, build practical coping skills, and make life feel a little more manageable—one session at a time.

A few things you can expect:

A judgment-free space where you can be yourself.

Real conversations (no therapy couch stereotypes here).

Practical tools you can actually use in everyday life.

Plenty of room for humor—because sometimes laughing is part of healing.

The occasional appearance from my two cats, Winnie and Milo, who have become unofficial telehealth assistants and love making surprise guest appearances.

Whether you're navigating anxiety, ADHD, relationships, college, a major life transition, or just feeling stuck, we'll meet you where you are and go from there.

Come as you are. We'll figure out the rest together.
