Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I consider therapy?

Therapy isn't just for times of crisis. It can also be a place to better understand yourself, learn healthy coping skills, improve relationships, navigate life transitions, or simply have a space that's entirely focused on you.

Whether you're struggling with anxiety, ADHD, OCD, trauma, college stress, or feeling stuck, therapy can help you build insight, confidence, and practical tools to navigate life's challenges. You don't have to wait until things feel "bad enough" to reach out.

How long will I be in therapy?

There isn't a set timeline. Some clients come to therapy for a specific challenge and meet for a few months, while others choose longer-term therapy for ongoing support and personal growth.

We'll regularly check in about your goals and make sure therapy continues to meet your needs.

How often will we meet?

Most clients begin with weekly sessions, which helps build momentum and establish a strong therapeutic relationship.

As you begin reaching your goals, we may transition to sessions every other week or monthly. The frequency of sessions is always based on your individual needs, goals, and preferences.

How long is each session?

Individual therapy sessions are 60 minutes and are conducted through a secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform.

Do you accept insurance?

I am a private-pay practice, which means I do not bill insurance directly.

Private pay allows for greater privacy, flexibility, and treatment that's guided by your needs rather than insurance requirements.

If you have out-of-network benefits, I can provide a superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Reimbursement depends on your individual insurance plan.

How much does therapy cost?

Therapy is an investment in your mental health and overall well-being. My fees are designed to be transparent, with no surprise bills.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Payment is securely processed through the client portal. I accept:

  • All major credit and debit cards

  • HSA and FSA cards

Payment is due at the time of your appointment.

Do you offer a free consultation?

Yes! I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to briefly discuss what you're looking for, answer any questions, and see if we're a good fit before scheduling your first session.

What are your office hours?

Sessions are by appointment only. I offer appointments Wednesdays -Saturdays between 6 am-2 pm, with limited afternoon and evening slots based on availability.

Where are sessions held?

All appointments are conducted virtually through a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. As long as you're physically located in Connecticut and have a private space with a reliable internet connection, you can attend therapy from wherever is most comfortable for you.

What if I've never been to therapy before?

That's completely okay! Many of my clients are trying therapy for the first time.

There's no "right" way to do therapy, and you don't need to know exactly what to say. We'll go at your pace, and together we'll figure out what feels most helpful for you.

What if I don't know what to talk about?

You don't have to come to every session with a plan.

Some days you'll have a lot to process, and other days you might feel unsure where to start. That's completely normal. I'll help guide the conversation, and we'll work together to figure out what's most important in the moment.

Will I get to meet your cats?

Maybe! Since I provide virtual therapy, my cats, Winnie and Milo, occasionally make surprise appearances during sessions. They're my unofficial telehealth assistants and sometimes decide they'd like to join the conversation.

Don't worry—they're usually just passing through, but many clients enjoy the occasional furry guest appearance!
